Enrolling at St Gabriel’s School

Applications are now closed for Kindergarten and Year 7, 2024.

We are taking applications for 2025 and beyond. We may have some very limited places throughout primary and secondary, so please fill in an enquiry form if you wish to discuss further.

Enrolment Process

St Gabriel's School provides an individualised education program for students with a diagnosed intellectual disability in the mild to moderate range. If you have a child who you feel would benefit from the educational program and nurturing environment St Gabriel's has to offer, please register for our Open Day (usually held in March each year) and fill out an enrolment enquiry

Open Day

If there is an upcoming Open Day, please book in. You can tour the school and hear from our leadership team. It’s the best way to learn about all of our programs and facilities, as well as our enrolment process and criteria.

Enrolment Enquiry

Fill out the enquiry form. If you haven’t already had a tour of the school or attended an Open Day, we can schedule a time. This is a good time to ensure that you have all the correct reports and paperwork for your application (please see the list “Enrolment Eligibility and Documentation Required”). Our Registrar will be in contact when the enquiry is submitted.

Enrolment Application

If your child meets the eligibility requirements, you will be sent a link to submit a formal enrolment application. The application fee is $110 (which is non-refundable). From application, you will be invited to an enrolment interview and our staff may also talk to you about undertaking a current school or pre-school visit if necessary. We suggest the application be submitted by the end of March for enrolment the following year.

Interview

An interview will take place at St Gabriel’s School. The child and parents/carers will all need to be present at this. These usually take place in April-May for enrolment in the following year. Offers of enrolment placement will be sent via email at the end of June.

Enrolment Eligibility and Documentation Required

In the education of children with disabilities, the criteria used to ascertain the eligibility for services and resources is dependent on a variety of factors.

To be deemed eligible for enrolment, the following requirements are mandatory and the School reviews the following documentation to ensure students meet enrolment criteria:

  • Psychometric Assessment (a current WISC; Stanford Binet; WPPSI-IV; or Griffiths assessment no older than two years)
