Religious Education and Sacramental Programs
As a Catholic community, we seek to ensure the EREA Touchstones, our Christian values and our School values of Faith, Joy, Community and Relationships are reflected across every facet of our school. We aim to provide meaningful and engaging faith opportunities that are relevant and significant in the context of our students’ lives.
Religious Education is an important part of the school curriculum at St Gabriel’s School. The Religious Program reflects the spiral of the liturgical year and encompasses key Catholic Liturgical Events, an understanding of God and the life of Jesus and actively living out the Gospel Values. The overall purpose of our Religious Education is to support each student’s growth in faith. This is achieved through the Catholic ethos of the School and the students’ experiences of prayer, liturgy, spiritual days, service to others, Mass attendance, high school retreats and participation in sacramental programs.
Students are invited to deepen their Catholic Faith by participating in the St Gabriel’s School Sacramental Program or the sacramental programs offered at a student’s local parish. We work in unison with our Parish Priest, Father Fernando from St Bernadette’s Parish at Castle Hill and families of our students to enable them to undertake the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.
